Clothing Closet

Thrift store with racks of clothes and carts filled with clothing items.

Beyond the basic needs of clothing, shopping for and choosing your own clothing is an important personal agency to pick what you wear as an act of self-expression, identity, and control. It promotes emotional well-being, allows for creative self-definition, and fosters independence and confidence, particularly in children. Friends of Forgotten Children maintains the Clothing Closet, an area of our facility that distributes seasonal, gently-used clothing, shoes, and accessories to clients in need. The FOFC clothing closet can be “shopped” on Thursdays.
